The Pollock Table
Hardwood Spalted Maple Table
"The Pollock Table" is a spalted maple table with a trestle base. The table's name is inspired and named after the artist Jackson Pollock. His splatter/action paintings were full of life, color, beauty, and organized chaos. Each plank/slab is full of "spalting", which are espresso or dark brown streaks that are caused by a fungus that effects trees under stress, due to harsh conditions of the environment. Spalting is natures own paintbrush and is only prevalent in lighter color wood species. It also makes wood more valuable just like burls or figuring. All tables have a gorgeous thick trestle base with metal accents. Wood tops are 1" thick and 36-38” wide pending the live edge. If a customer wants "clean" and straight edges, then we can oblige and do so. Each table is treated with a matte spar-urethane and the base is stained an espresso tone to match the streaks in the top of the table.
